Post Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse – Travel Position Location: Bismarck, ND Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days + Call Pay: $2,174.40/week Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join on a travel contract in Bismarck, ND. The PACU RN will provide compassionate and critical care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical or diagnostic procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and confident in handling patients in a high-acuity post-operative setting. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia phase.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, consciousness, airway, and pain levels.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and interventions as ordered.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and provide emergency interventions when necessary.
• Educate patients and families on post-anesthesia care and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotations as scheduled.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license in North Dakota (or compact license).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Minimum of 3 years of recent PACU or critical care experience required.
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• COVID vaccine and recent TB test.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress recovery and emergency situations.
