Luxium Solutions is looking for a Lead Product Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will center around overseeing the design, development, and optimization of new and existing products to ensure they meet market needs and technical standards. The Lead Product Engineer will serve as the technical leader for product development projects, guiding a team of engineers and collaborating closely with cross-functional departments to ensure successful product launches.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles and a passion for innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Luxium products and fixtures utilizing 3-D CAD software
Serve as the technical team leader for specified product line(s)
Interpret specifications and requirements and translate into manufacturable designs
Author and maintain technical reports, assembly and test procedures, and quality reports
Collaborate with Domestic and Global colleagues in Applications and Technology, Marketing, Business, Sales and Customer Service, as well as Manufacturing and Electrical/Electronic Engineers, Technicians, and Operators
Utilize project management skills to maintain project schedule
Lead Continuous Improvement efforts and/or obsolescence of established and legacy designs
Work to reduce defects in manufacturing, increase yield and improve quality
May attend and/or present at global technical trade shows, conferences, and meetings
Interact with customers to provide technical guidance, limited training, and troubleshooting
Utilizes sound engineering principles and design practice as it applies to maintaining current production of products as well as development of new products.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) required; master’s degree preferred.
8 + years of prior industrial experience in a product design position focusing on mechanical products
5+ years of 3-D CAD design experience (Creo preferred )
Experience in working with cross-functional teams to drive product development from concept to production.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Prior Experience with radiation detectors p_referred_
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Basic machine shop skills utilizing saw, mills, and lathes preferred
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
