About the Role

The Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager position is responsible for overseeing and enforcing quality and food safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. This role is critical for maintaining product integrity, minimizing risk, and driving continuous improvement within the quality management system.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage food safety and quality assurance programs in alignment with CGMP and FDA regulations
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure facility compliance with food safety standards
  • Lead root cause analyses and corrective/preventive action initiatives for quality incidents
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and operations teams to support quality improvement efforts
  • Maintain and update food safety plans, including HACCP, allergen control, and sanitation programs
  • Manage quality documentation and ensure traceability of raw materials and finished goods
  • Oversee employee training related to food safety procedures and quality standards
  • Act as the point of contact during third-party audits and regulatory inspections

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in food safety and quality assurance within a food production or processing environment
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, CGMP, HACCP, and other food safety standards
  • Experience managing quality systems and leading cross-functional quality initiatives
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data related to quality performance metrics
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and reporting
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field
  • Certification in HACCP, PCQI, SQF Practitioner, or similar food safety program
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 22000 or BRCGS
  • Experience working with LIMS or digital quality documentation systems
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean
