Auto Mechanic I

Job Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, and repair on Fox Valley Fire & Safety company vehicles, which include GM, Ford, Mercedes Sprinters & Metris on the following systems & their components; Electrical, Air conditioning, Brakes, Engine maintenance, Exhaust, Tires, Suspension, Drivetrain
• Complete all categories/levels of preventative maintenance of diesel and gasoline vehicles.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely repair & maintenance records per vehicle
• Maintain the highest level of work performance and complete repairs as assigned, while upholding highest safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop area and assist in ordering and organization of the parts cage.
• Have a basic understanding of power/air hand tools.
• Maintain an appropriate set of personal job-related tools.
• Obey all traffic laws and department guidelines when operating company owned vehicles.
• Work independently while contributing to a positive and professional "team” effort and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Two (2) years vehicle repair experience on car and medium-duty vehicles preferred.
• Ability to multi-task as needed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean MVR,
• Required to do repetitive bending, kneeling, and lifting (at least 50 lbs.), with proper technique, during the normal workday.
• Work safely while climbing and/or standing on ladders.
• Auto/Diesel vocational trade school preferred OR in training to complete and receive certification within 12 months
• HS Diploma or equivalent

The starting pay rate for this role is based on experience with a range from $19-$23/hourly paid bi-weekly.
