Job Description

Prestage Farms is seeking an Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of accounting and financial duties. The Accounting Clerk responsibilities include maintaining financial records, reviewing general ledger accounts, and various other accounting duties. You will also run accounting software programs (e.g., BMS) to process daily transactions, and month-end entries. A successful Accounting Clerk should be familiar with all accounting procedures, have a flair for numbers, and be an initiative-taker. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others:

Responsibilities

• Post transactions such as payables and receivables in the general ledger
• Create and post various journal entries
• Prepare documents and assist with audits
• Perform month-end and year-end tasks
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Keep informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting
• Maintain and reconcile various spreadsheets
• Knowledgeable in Accrual and Cash Basis accounting

Requirements

• Manage and maintain sensitive information in confidential and meticulous manner

• Work independently and well organized

• Familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
• Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software
• Excellent communication skills
• Firsthand experience with spreadsheets, general ledger accounts, and financial reports
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or comparable experience
