What You’ll Do The Talent Acquisition Specialist reports to the US East People and Culture Business Partner and oversees the full hiring process for US Retail—from posting roles and partnering with leaders to sourcing candidates and managing pre-employment steps through Day 1.
Location You will be based out of our New Lenox, IL, Louisville, KY, Baltimore, MD or Kansas City, MO office with a hybrid schedule of 4 days in the office and 1 day remote/virtual.
Responsibilities - Build key relationships and trust with hiring managers to understand their current and future hiring needs, promoting the use of talent acquisition strategies
- Conduct full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles including sourcing, screening, assessing, interviewing, pre-employment screenings, offers and onboarding paperwork
- Provide detailed candidate interview notes, interpret assessment testing results, and recommend qualified candidates
- Network and maintain a pipeline of industry qualified candidates through a variety of sourcing channels, and technology strategies
- Lead with innovation, and resilience to source exceptional talent in the market
- Provide feedback on market challenges regarding attracting top talent
- Utilize technology to facilitate an efficient and professional hiring process
- Provide suggestions to streamline our hiring processes
- Proactively communicate updates and collaborate on solutions to recruitment challenges
- Accurately maintain and report on weekly recruitment dashboard and related talent acquisition metrics
- Participate or lead Talent Acquisition projects as required
Who You Are We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related field
- 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including high-volume hourly roles
- Strong knowledge of the recruiting lifecycle—from posting to Day 1 onboarding
- Proven ability to manage 10–20 requisitions and conduct thorough interviews
- Collaborative, customer-focused approach with strong influencing skills
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with change
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong analytical, judgment, and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ATS (Taleo), and Microsoft Copilot
- Attention to detail and ability to tailor communication to diverse stakeholders
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience recruiting for warehouse/logistics or big-box retail
- In-house and salaried recruitment experience
- Familiarity with both U.S. and Canadian markets
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Knowledge of construction, building materials, or millwork industry

Working in-branch, together, is the default workplace environment for Metrie to be an exceptional place to work. Some salaried roles offer 1 day a week of workplace flexibility with approval by their manager.
In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The base pay range for this role is set at $70,000.00−$85,000.00. It is important to note that this position may also qualify for discretionary bonuses. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
