Subject Matter Expert, Public Assistance Systems (Remote, hybrid or Onsite)

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide strategic guidance and domain expertise for mission-critical systems supporting public benefit programs. This long-term engagement involves working with stakeholders to enhance, support, and guide the design and operation of systems tied to state-administered human services.

Location: Jackson, Mississippi (Remote or onsite; candidate preference considered)
Employment Type: Long term Contract (W2 only, no third party candidates please)

Role Summary:
In this advisory and leadership-focused role, the SME will leverage deep experience in public assistance programs such as SNAP, TANF, Child Support, and Child Welfare to guide system strategies, inform solution design, and support implementation efforts. The SME will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, offering insight rooted in extensive domain knowledge and historical understanding of program administration.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 20 years of direct experience in public sector systems related to SNAP, TANF, Child Support, or Child Welfare
• Recognized expertise in one or more of these programs, with a history of leadership or consultative roles
• Experience within Mississippi government is strongly preferred

Preferred:

• Background in leading cross-functional teams or supervising program staff
• Familiarity with relevant technologies such as WebLogic or legacy system integration
