Job Description

LAWAZEM is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and preparing detailed financial reports. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the organization's general accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making

• Coordinate and assist with annual audits and preparation of tax returns

• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts

• Provide training and support to junior accounting staff

• Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 4-6 years of accounting experience, with a focus on senior-level responsibilities
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• CPA designation or similar certification is preferred
