A respected healthcare facility is seeking a dependable and professional Hospital Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role plays a vital part in supporting hospital operations, protecting property, and ensuring compliance with healthcare safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a visible and active security presence throughout the facility and surrounding areas.
Respond quickly and safely to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following established safety and security protocols.
Escort patients, staff, and visitors as needed to ensure safety and comfort.
Monitor entrances, parking areas, and facility grounds to deter unauthorized activity.
Manage and document all security-related incidents, including patient valuables, lost items, and restricted property.
Provide vehicle and courier assistance, including inspections and emergency response support.
De-escalate conflicts using calm communication and approved defensive tactics when necessary.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and hospital leadership during investigations or emergencies.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and hospital confidentiality policies at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
MediClear Certification (or equivalent HIPAA credential) required.
Valid Indiana driver’s license required.
1+ year of experience in hospital, healthcare, or corporate security preferred.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in stressful situations.
Physically capable of standing, walking, and responding quickly throughout long shifts.
Knowledge of AIDET or AVADE de-escalation principles preferred.
