POSITION SUMMARY:

Island Pacific Academy seeks an enthusiastic Secondary Design Thinking and English and Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach courses in Design Thinking, Introduction to Digital Storytelling, Journalism, Publishing (School Yearbook), Introduction to Graphic Design. Develop engaging and differentiated lesson plans aligned with school curriculum and standards.
• Foster a supportive learning environment promoting student growth, creativity, and collaboration.Integrate technology and multimedia tools to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Provide timely feedback and assessment to support student progress and achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects integrating design thinking principles with English language arts.
• Stay updated on current trends and best practices in design thinking, digital storytelling, journalism, and graphic design education.
• Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives to enhance teaching practice and contribute to the school community.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure effective collaboration and support student success.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Design, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Teaching certification or eligibility for certification/licensure in secondary education.
• Experience teaching Design Thinking, Digital Storytelling, Journalism, and/or Graphic Design at secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and instructional practices.
• Proficiency in integrating technology and multimedia tools into instruction.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and growth mindset.

SALARY REQUIREMENTS:

• $45,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
