What You'll Do as a Tax Preparer:

• Prepare tax returns by entering source documents into tax software and following firm preparation guidelines.
• Review tax returns prepared by other team members to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Assist with additional tasks and projects as needed to support the tax team.
• Work part-time, 10-25 hours per week during open hours, with shifts of at least four hours.
• Travel occasionally to the Ephrata office as needed.

Our Ideal Tax Preparer:

• Experienced: Associate's degree in accounting or two years of related experience preferred. Experience with Schedule C, E, and F, as well as consolidated brokerage statements, is helpful.
• Analytical: Enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and ensuring accuracy in every detail.
• Independent & Reliable: Works efficiently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards.
• Communicative: Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues.
• Organized: Manages multiple tasks effectively and handles confidential information with discretion.
• Tech-savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, including creating and using spreadsheets and formulas. Experience using tax preparation software such as QuickBooks, UltraTax, or Practice CS is required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experienced: Two years in a clerical or administrative setting preferred. Knowledge of accounting or financial documentation is a plus, but not required.
