**Landscaper- San Juan Capistrano, CA** **Job Description** Candidates will be working with biologists and the resources team on a landfill in San Marcos. This role involves maintaining California vegetation by chopping weeds and ensuring they do not regrow. The team is divided into three groups: hand weeders, backpack sprayers, and line trimmers. Hand weeders use hand tools and work bent down, chopping weeds. Sprayers carry pesticides in backpacks and follow behind the weeders, spraying the weeds. The work is vigorous and full-time, outdoors, and may require parking and hiking into the site due to recent rains. Planting pots as scheduled within project timelines is also part of the job. **Responsibilities** + Chop weeds down while maintaining California vegetation. + Work in one of three groups: hand weeders, backpack sprayers, or line trimmers. + Hand weeders use hand tools and work bent down. + Sprayers carry pesticides in backpacks and follow behind weeders. + Perform vigorous, outdoor full-time work. + Park and hike into the site as necessary. + Plant pots as scheduled within project timelines. **Essential Skills** + 1+ years of outdoor construction or landscaping work. + Line trimming experience. + Hand weeding experience. + Spraying experience. + Ability to lift 50+ lbs unassisted. + Comfortable working outside in the heat. + General labor + Greenery maintenance + Construction **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
