Job Title: Surgical/Operating Room Technician
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Type: Contract - Flex Shift - 13 Weeks
Job Summary: We are seeking skilled Surgical/Operating Room Technicians for day/evening shifts in a pediatric operating room setting. Candidates should have a strong background in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers, with experience across multiple surgical specialties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist surgeons and the OR team by preparing and maintaining sterile fields for procedures.
Scrub in for a wide range of cases, including orthopedic, general, ENT, vascular, GYN, neurosurgery, trauma, bariatric, and GU surgeries.
Ensure proper handling of instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures.
Collaborate with surgical teams to provide safe and efficient patient care.
Maintain adherence to all infection control and safety protocols.
Support OR turnover and equipment preparation for subsequent procedures.
Perform responsibilities with minimal orientation and supervision in an acute care surgical setting.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of recent operating room experience (within the last 4 years) in an acute care facility of comparable size/level (Level 1 trauma or teaching hospital preferred).
Scrub experience required.
Experience in general and multiple specialty surgical areas (ortho, neurosurgery, trauma, vascular, ENT, bariatric, GU, GYN) required.
Certification as a Surgical Technologist highly desired.
OB scrub experience highly desired.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Must not have had professional license/certification suspended or investigated.
Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance.
First-time travelers will only be considered if they have experience in facilities of comparable size and scope.
Key Skills:

OB scrub experience – highly desired.
