Position Description:University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a Pediatric Cardiologist at the level of Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure) with a negotiable duration up to maximum of 2 years. The individual selected will join the Division of Pediatric Cardiology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a Pediatric Cardiologist and serve as a trainee in Pediatric Echocardiography and cross-sectional imaging

The pediatrics department comprises the medical staff of University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital, Iowa’s only nationally ranked children’s hospital and home to the state’s only Level 4 NICU and Level 1 Regional Resource Pediatric Trauma Center. The ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program at Stead Family Children’s Hospital trains 50 pediatric resident physicians.
For its 2024-25 edition of “Best Children’s Hospitals,” U.S. News & World Report ranked Stead Family Children's Hospital in nine pediatric specialties: Behavioral health , Cancer, Cardiology, Heart, and Vascular Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Neonatology,Nephrology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Urology.

Education Requirement:
Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalent
Required Qualifications:Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics, or equivalent
Board certified or eligible Pediatric Cardiology
Candidates must be licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Iowa
Desirable Qualifications:Interest in pediatric cardiac imaging including transthoracic, transesophageal echocardiography
Interest in either fetal echocardiography or cross-sectional imaging
Experience in clinical research
Teaching competence in pediatrics for medical students and residents
Evidence of scholarly activity
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment
