Materials Manager | Ludington, MI

Salary Range: $83,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Ludington that are seeking Materials Managers. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize inventory levels for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Develop and implement materials planning strategies to support production schedules.
• Oversee supplier relationships and performance for critical materials.
• Analyze material forecasts and collaborate with procurement for timely supply.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives related to material sourcing, storage, and waste.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements for all materials.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the materials management team.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory planning, procurement, and production scheduling.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills with a track record of optimizing inventory levels and supplier performance.
• In-depth understanding of inventory control principles, logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing processes.
• APICS CSCP or CPIM certification preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Proficiency with advanced data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Experience with international sourcing and global logistics
