About Indirect Tax at Walmart The Indirect Tax Team plays a critical role in Walmart's ability to navigate the complex landscape of indirect taxation, ensuring compliance and maximizing profitability across the corporation. The complexity and scale of taxation at Walmart encompasses our ecommerce business, brick & mortar stores, other business ventures, and beyond. **What you'll do...** As a Manager, Tax - Indirect, you will use your skills and knowledge to support Indirect Tax in one of the following areas: + **Sales/Use Tax Operations:** Monitor and interpret changes in state and local tax laws to ensure accurate tax calculation on transactions. + **Audit:** Support audit defense for sales tax, use tax, product tax, excise tax, regulatory fees, and gross receipts across state and local jurisdictions. + **Tax Tech & Data:** Leverage tools like Alteryx, Power BI, and SQL to analyze large volumes of data and improve operational efficiency. + **Compliance:** Preparing and filing sales, use, and other transaction-based tax returns with hundreds of state and local jurisdictions across the U.S. + **Planning:** Conduct in-depth research and draft clear, well-reasoned documentation to support tax strategies. **What you'll bring:** + 6+ years of indirect tax experience in industry and/or consulting + Advanced degree or certification related to Taxation + Strong tax research and writing skills + Excellent communication and relationship-building skills + Ability to manage large amounts of electronic data + Strong leadership skills and a collaborative mindset to support cross-functional teams and help elevate team performance. _The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed in the role.
