Job Description

Description We are looking for a skilled Litigation Paralegal with a strong background in insurance defense to join a firm with offices throughout the US. This Litigation Paralegal can sit remote within California, but must reside within the state and have experience with California civil codes & procedures. The ideal Litigation Paralegal will have extensive experience in handling discovery processes, drafting legal documents, and preparing for trials. First or third party liability claims experience is a plus. Prior insurance defense experience is a must. Responsibilities: - Manage and oversee all aspects of discovery, including drafting, responding to, and organizing discovery requests and responses. - Prepare legal pleadings, motions, and other documents necessary for litigation proceedings. - Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and ensuring readiness for court. - Maintain accurate and detailed billing records to meet the required billable hours of 1650 annually. - Conduct research and gather documentation related to insurance defense cases, including first and third-party claims. ^ Pay is entirely contingent upon experience. We have placed numerous happy employees at this firm, in three different offices around the country! Requirements - Living in CA and experience with CA civil law. Paralegals local to San Diego or Walnut Creek will be given preference. - A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Litigation Paralegal, ideally in insurance defense or a similar practice area. - Proven expertise in handling first and third-party insurance claims. - Proficiency in drafting and responding to discovery requests. - Strong knowledge of trial preparation processes, including organizing and managing trial materials. - Experience in maintaining and meeting billable hour requirements (ABA-approved paralegal certificate required for billing purposes). - Familiarity with calendaring and court filing procedures is a plus.
