As an Industrial Electro‑Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert for both urgent break-fix work and disciplined preventive maintenance that keeps production humming. Your day blends hands-on craftsmanship with data-driven decision-making.

A day in the life

  • Diagnose and execute expert-level break-fix and preventive maintenance: observe equipment in operation, pinpoint root causes, disassemble to access/replace defective components, adjust mechanisms and control instruments, reassemble, and verify performance.
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical testing, including circuitry checks and mechanical system verification; recondition and repair machine tools as needed.
  • Source parts and supplies, evaluate alternatives, and recommend options that improve reliability and reduce cost.
  • Collaborate with the Planner/Scheduler to refine and optimize PM procedures.
  • Set up and run machining operations (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools) to fabricate or repair parts; perform welding when required.
  • Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, delivering process enhancements and measurable cost savings using CI tools and methods.
  • Mentor junior technicians and provide technical leadership on project teams; perform expert functions to support training and development.
  • Troubleshoot complex control systems, resolving advanced software, hardware, and configuration issues.
  • Apply predictive maintenance technologies to capture performance data, spot trends, and make recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records, review CMMS history, and analyze data to inform maintenance strategies.
  • Pursue on-the-job training and technical self-study to advance your career.
  • Champion safety—follow all policies, procedures, technical instructions, and identify unsafe acts/conditions with strong situational awareness.

What you bring

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Associate degree with a technical focus and 5 years of industry experience; or 7 years of industry experience.
  • Technical breadth in predictive technologies, precision alignments, and general maintenance of process equipment.
  • Fluency in electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems—capable of analyzing problems, generating alternatives, and executing repairs.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools and specialized tools.
  • Experience with vibration analysis or laser interferometer operations; precision alignments; maintenance of applicable process equipment.
  • May require occasional travel.

Physical demands & working conditions

This role requires frequent standing and walking; manual dexterity with hands/fingers; reaching; climbing, ascending/descending, or balancing at heights that may require a ladder or lift; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in confined spaces; and clear communication (talking/hearing). Sitting occurs occasionally. You must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Close and color vision are regularly required. You may occasionally encounter outside weather and the risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a loud factory environment where exposure to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery floors may occur.
