As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented, and skilled Head Brewer to lead our brewing operations and help shape the future of our beer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brewing Operations: Oversee daily brewing activities including mash-in, wort transfer, fermentation monitoring, gravity/pH testing, and tank-to-tank transfers. Ensure all beers are consistent, stable, and meet high technical and sensory standards.
  • Packaging Line: Working knowledge of operating a two head canning line.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of raw materials, packaging, and finished beer to ensure flagship and seasonal brands remain available without interruption. Place timely orders for supplies and track usage accurately.
  • Quality Control: Uphold rigorous quality and sanitation standards across brewhouse, cellar, and packaging. Conduct sensory and lab testing to ensure every beer meets CraftHaus’ standards.
  • Recipe Development: Collaborate with the team to design and brew innovative seasonal and specialty beers. Make adjustments to recipes as needed to account for ingredient variations.
  • Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and coordinate repairs on brewing and cellar equipment. Keep spare parts inventory to minimize downtime.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor, train, and manage production staff in a collaborative and professional manner. Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and pride in craftsmanship.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Complete production logs, batch reports, and inventory records accurately. Support administrative functions for state and federal compliance (TTB and local reporting).
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment. Follow OSHA and brewery safety protocols, including PPE use, chemical handling, and equipment safeguards.
  • Brand Representation: Serve as an ambassador for CraftHaus Brewery through occasional tours, collaborations, festivals, and community events.
  • Distributor Relationship: Communicate on a weekly basis with our distributor to track inventory and build outgoing orders for pick up.
  • Barrel aging program: Dictate timing of barrel aging program with limited bottle releases.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience as a professional brewer, with leadership or shift lead experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the brewing process, from raw material handling to packaging.
  • Extreme attention to detail with excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask, troubleshoot, and problem-solve in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and industry safety standards.
  • Comfortable lifting 55 lbs repeatedly, moving 165 lbs, and working in hot/cold, cramped, or noisy environments.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
  • Forklift operation experience (certification a plus).
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
