Grants Manager A/B - Contract - Philadelphia

Proclinical is seeking a Grants Manager A/B for a contract role based in the US. This position focuses on supporting research funding activities within the rare disease and healthcare sectors.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will play a key role in pre- and post-award grant administration, ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines, and providing financial and regulatory support to Principal Investigators (PIs). This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse funding portfolios and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Skills & R equirements:

• Experience in managing NIH and other federal grants is required.
• Familiarity with UPENN-sponsored research policies and financial systems is preferred.
• Experience managing city, state, or foundation grants is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Bachelor's degree with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Grants Manager A/B's responsibilities will be:

Grants Manager A:

• Collaborate with PIs on proposal development, budget creation, and pre-award submission requirements for federal, state, and private funding sources.
• Oversee the administration of sponsored program funds, including training grants and multi-subcontract projects.
• Set up accounts for new awards and manage transitions from pre- to post-award stages.
• Monitor and review expenditures, prepare fund projections, and ensure budget adherence.
• Manage subawards, project closeouts, and audit requirements for federal awards.
• Update and reallocate payroll distributions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines and address any corrective actions.
• Produce and distribute financial reports to assist PIs in project management.
• Stay updated on university and sponsor guidelines, providing guidance to faculty on research administration policies.
• Act as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate agreements and deliverables.
• Support systems such as PennERA and Research Inventory System (RIS) for grant submissions and reporting.

Grants Manager B (in addition to the above):

• Manage more complex grants and funding arrangements independently.
• Participate in departmental projects, including annual budget submissions and strategic planning.
• Supervise and mentor staff, such as Administrative Assistants or Grants Coordinators.
