Job Description

Turner Staffing Group is seeking an experienced and self-motivated  Project Geologist to join a 3-month drilling project in  Lead, South Dakota . This hands-on role involves core logging directly in  Datamine and supporting exploration efforts through high-quality geological interpretation and data management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently  log diamond drill core directly in Datamine , documenting lithology, mineralogy (and percentage), alteration, structure, and orientation.
• Use structural tools on oriented core and handheld XRF as needed for mineral identification.
• Select and document core samples for assay, including standards and duplicates.
• Review and integrate geological maps and historic logs to guide logging strategy.
• Collaborate closely with the geology team, drillers, and field personnel.
• Support sampling workflows and prepare core for cutting.
• Maintain daily flexibility and self-direction in a dynamic project environment.
• Be available for on-call assessments for drillhole completion.
• Contribute to safety culture by following all company and site-specific safety practices.
• Log RC chips and summarize drillhole results, if required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field required.
• 2–5 years of experience in core logging and mineral exploration preferred.
• Direct experience logging in  Datamine is highly preferred.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote field environment.
• Strong communication and geological interpretation skills.
• Familiarity with handheld XRF and oriented core tools.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in varying field conditions.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
