Job Description

Summary :

This position is responsible for all aspects of Fleet Management including maintenance and liquidation of sales and delivery vehicles along with warehouse equipment. Oversee all vehicle maintenance operations. Oversee all company, State and Federal safety regulations with regards to driver and vehicle safety and DOT compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Responsible for purchasing all new company forklifts and order pickers, and liquidations. 
• Responsible for monitoring all company vehicle lease contracts.
• Responsible for setting up and monitoring vehicles, forklift and order picker maintenance schedules and coordinating all warranty work.
• Responsible for maintaining vehicle maintenance records per Department of Transportation regulations.
• Responsible for all company vehicle accident reporting and insurance claims reporting.
• Responsible for implementing and monitoring all Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules and regulations as they pertain to BZO Wheel and Tire Distributor.
• Responsible for all aspects of maintaining Department of Transportation Driver Qualification files of approximately 35 drivers’ company wide. These include obtaining and monitoring Background checks, Motor Vehicle Records check, DOT violations check, and DOT required physicals.
• Responsible for driver safety training.

Essential Knowledge and Skills: 

• Must be computer literate with knowledge of Word and Excel spread sheets.
• Must have mechanical knowledge of cars, trucks, trailers, forklift and order pickers.
• Must understand replacement parts, warranties, lease agreements and long-term contracts.
• Must have a working knowledge of insurance claims for all types of damage. And a working understanding of auto liability and personal injury litigation. 
• Must be knowledgeable of and able to update through continuing education DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations.
• Must be able to work with managers, drivers, technicians and all company employees to achieve the best result for the company.

Required Education and Experience :

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clean driving record.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in fleet administration and logistics.
