Job Description



The Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) Internship is an opportunity to support a 200,000 square foot automotive parts manufacturing facility of approximately 400 employees located in New Braunfels, Texas. This $110 million investment location manufactures Advanced Driver Assistance Systems for automated and assisted driving. The Environmental Safety & Health Internship position is a developmental role to gain practical experience in the ESH function and support the needs of the department in a 24/7 manufacturing plant. In this capacity, the ESH Intern will contribute to successful operations for the location. This position is scheduled to last 12 weeks in length from May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluates the work environment for occupational safety, environmental protection, fire protection, security and health.
• Assist with the development and implementation ESH related processes in the location to ensure legal compliance as well as emergency response planning/execution. 
• Conduct occupational safety checks before start of operation of equipment and machines.
• Utilize Risk Assessment methods to generate safety analyses and concepts as well as emergency preparedness plans. 
• Aid management in program elements to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations regarding control and disposal of waste.
• Assist with emergency response planning and execution.

OUTCOMES:

The Environmental Safety & Health Intern can expect to gain practical experience in a broad range of ESH topics. Focus projects may include, but are not limited to:

• Risk Assessments for new equipment
• Lockout Tagout program enhancements
• Ergonomics evaluations
• Recycling and Environmental Sustainability

Qualifications



• Currently enrolled in an accredited University Degree Program
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in in occupational safety and health, environmental sciences, engineering or natural science and proof of the functional knowledge of occupational safety and/or environmental protection
• 3.0 overall GPA or higher
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
