Job Description

**Overview** Kimley-Horn's Los Angeles office is seeking a Environmental Planner with 4+ years of experience to join their Environmental Planning team! This is not a remote position. **Responsibilities** + Prepare Environmental Quality Act documents, environmental impact reports, and negative and mitigated negative declarations + Assist in Specific Plans, Master Plans, and other environmental or planning policy documents in support of a full range of infill and/or land development related projects + Perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members. + Will likely gain expertise in: Sustainability, climate action planning, ENVISION, LEED, and Salmon-Safe + Environmental clearance associated with local comprehensive plans/local land use planning + Working with infrastructure projects from across industries such as transportation, transit, land planning, aviation **Qualifications** + Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Environmentlal Planning (or other degree applicable to the planning field) + 4+ years of experience conducting environmental studies for local agencies and private entities + American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) Certification Preferred + Experience with a wide range of tasks related to environmental planning + Understanding of the agencies involved with the Environmental Quality Act process as well as the state's Land Planning Law + Experience with NEPA compliance is a plus + Strong writing/verbal skills + Working knowledge of GIS/ArcView + Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills + Positive attitude and a strong work ethic + Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines + Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment + Ability to work independently and as a team **Salary Range:** **$100,000 - $150,000** **Why Kimley-Horn?** At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
