Diesel Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Full-Time)

We manage a large fleet of diesel trucks, tractors, loaders, and construction-style machinery that keeps our business running smoothly year-round. We’re looking for a dependable, experienced Diesel Heavy Equipment Mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship and keeping machines operating at peak performance.

Position Summary

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of diesel and heavy equipment. This position involves both shop and field service work and requires strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, electrical systems, and air systems
• Perform preventive maintenance on trucks, tractors, loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment
• Conduct inspections and document repair work accurately
• Use diagnostic tools and service software to troubleshoot issues efficiently
• Fabricate, weld, or modify components as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Work independently and communicate effectively with supervisors and operators

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a diesel, heavy equipment, or industrial mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification a plus)

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive hourly pay: $25–$45 per hour, based on experience
• Full-time, year-round position (Monday–Friday, occasional overtime during peak seasons)
