AWG Company, has an immediate opening for a Inside Counter Sales Representative and Backup CDL Driver at our Grandview, MO location.

Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred or the ability to obtain both  

This position is responsible for helping customers purchase and order products focusing on gases and welding/industrial supplies. Duties will also include maintaining hard goods, receiving, inventory control and product delivery. 

Duties:  

• Counter Sales Responsibilities:  
• Assist walk-in customers with their needs and provide product information. 
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently. 
• Manage inventory levels and restock shelves as necessary. 
• Maintain a clean and organized sales counter area. 
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly. 
• Assist in the preparation of quotes and orders for customers. 
• Ensure all sales and customer interactions are conducted in a professional manner. 

Delivery Responsibilities (you will be delivering for approximately one week each month) :  

• Load, unload, move, and store gas and liquid cylinders and other hard goods. 
• Make deliveries to customers or other branches. 
• Fill out delivery tickets completely and accurately. 
• Ensure appropriate preparation, completion and accuracy of paperwork including shipping papers and delivery tickets. 
• Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle. 
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations. 
• Move, load, and unload empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:  

• High School graduate or equivalent. 
• Class B CDL requires Hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain both requirement. 
• Clean driving record. 
• Ability to read and write English. 
• Ability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.). 
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, Back Assessment, and company-administered road test. 
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers. 
• Experience in sales or customer service is a plus. 
• Drug-free work environment.
