Commercial Roofing Estimator – Memphis, TN

We are currently seeking a Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our Memphis, TN team.

Position Overview

The Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and proposals for commercial roofing projects. This role involves reviewing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine material, labor, and time requirements. The Estimator will work closely with project management, service, and sales teams to ensure accurate bids and seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and set objectives to meet estimating goals.
• Prepare accurate job cost estimates and submit proposals for review and approval.
• Develop and submit project drawings, submittal letters, and product documentation.
• Request and track product data sheets, samples, and technical materials.
• Maintain and utilize bid logs to track project status and performance.
• Manage the full estimating process from pre-bid through project handoff.
• Draft professional proposals for general contractors, private clients, and other customers.
• Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of materials and services throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to resolve estimating issues.
• Prepare and maintain an up-to-date directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Support sales and project teams by providing timely information, answering client inquiries, and assisting with project coordination.
• Cooperate with Project Management, Service, and Office departments to ensure smooth transitions between project phases.
• Assist with developing budgets and operational cost projections.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial roofing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience with estimating and take-off software tools.
• Ability to perform roof take-offs and field core cuts when necessary.
• Comfortable working at heights and capable of climbing ladders.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to handle challenges professionally and provide effective solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
