Job Details

We’re looking for an experienced barback with a passion for craft cocktails to play a vital support role in ensuring the efficiency and success of bar operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the bar is always stocked through pre-service prep, in-service restocks and post-service inventory checks
• Assist bartenders to ensure batches, syrups and garnishes are prepared, stocked and dated properly
• Keep workstations and service areas organized and clean by removing empty glassware, replacing fresh tools and maintaining surface cleanliness
• Work closely with bartenders and servers to ensure seamless service flow
• Assist in bussing/support duties at the bar to ensure all guests are receiving the optimum experience at the direction of management
• Navigate all customer interactions with kindness and clarity
• Clean/wipe down bar counter and refrigerators and coolers at the bar every night and as needed.
• Clean up any broken glass or spills throughout the shift

Key Requirements

• 1+ year barback experience in high traffic New York upscale casual or fine dining
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to support bartenders and other staff.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to restocking and cleanliness.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to assist with guest and server needs
• Ability to conduct thorough breakdown and cleaning of bar area at close of shift.
• Ability to work efficiently, maximizing each trip to/from bar.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the bar and prioritize accordingly.
• Ability to learn and remember details about our products and be able to use that knowledge to stock the correct items.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include standing and working for long periods of time and frequent movement during work hours. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, bend, squat, kneel and reach above shoulder level.
