GYMBOREE PLAY & MUSIC of Encino is seeking one FABULOUS TEAM MEMBER who offers world-class customer service with a GREAT attitude. Our job opening is for ONE amazing individual.

At Gymboree, we take a playful and active approach to learning. We know that playing and learning are inextricably linked and our "whole child" approach helps children to build strong motor and social skills that better prepare them for school, all while having fun! Parents and/or caregivers attend classes with their children ages newborn to five years as they explore unique songs, play instruments and games.

There are 3 core programs:

• Play & Learn classes include age appropriate play activities on our custom designed play equipment, songs, parachute play, and bubbles.

• Music classes involve instrument activities, singing, dancing and exploring a variety of music styles from around the world. Candidates do not need to be able to read music or play instruments - just be rhythmic!

• Art classes offer hands-on, process-oriented activities including painting, sculpting, and collage making, in addition to movement activities and songs that support different art themes explored.

The position we have available right now is Baby and Toddler Play Teacher as well as Art & School Skills Teacher/Asst. We are very upfront with the type of Team Member we are looking for; please be honest about your abilities and availability! :)

We have a few shifts available right now - definitely Art & School Skills teacher on Tuesdays from 9:30am-2:30pm(ish), Play teacher on Wednesdays from 8:30am-3pm(ish), and Art & School Skills teacher on Fridays from 8:30am-2:30pm(ish). These are SET SCHEDULES EVERY WEEK. We also train you for every class so you are available to sub! We train you in the music classes, front desk position, and open gym positions. We also have opportunities to teach or assist teaching birthday parties on Saturdays after classes or on Sundays - we are booked nearly every weekend so this is a great opportunity for you to get more hours if you would like. :)

Your skills for the Front Desk shift must include:
• Provide excellent customer service
• Answering phones
• Display and sell merchandise
• Data entry in computer system
• Cleaning and maintaining overall appearance of site

Your skills for the teaching position with us need to be:
• Must be comfortable singing in front of children & grown-ups
• Possess strong group leadership and customer service skills
• Playful and energetic teaching style
• Experience working with young children is a plus
• Retail and customer service experience is a plus
• Commitment to on-going learning and program development
• Sense of humor appreciated

Team Member Requirements:
• One-year commitment. Since this is paid training and can take several weeks to get you fully trained to take over your classes, we do ask that you give at least a one-year commitment. This is definitely not a temp type of job. You will see the same families in your classes and consistency for our families seeing your face is important! 
• Must be available on weekends

Hours:
• Part-time
• Flexible schedule required; classes and parties are held weekdays, evenings and weekends
• Paid training will begin immediately

Compensation:
• Competitive hourly pay (based upon experience). Training is paid at $16.78 per hour and then you get a bump up when you take over your classes.
• Free Gymboree Play & Music play floor classes for employee's age appropriate children WHEN YOU ARE NOT WORKING

Gymboree Play & Music - Encino is independently owned and operated by a franchisee.
