Job Summary Under the immediate supervision of the Supervising Automotive/Equipment Mechanic, provides a full range of skilled automotive repair work.
Key Responsibilities - Provides a full range of skilled automotive I equipment repair.
- Fuel delivery system and cooling system service and repairs.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of automotive mechanics including electrical systems, brakes and engine overhauls. Thorough knowledge of the methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance, adjustment, and repair of automotive engines and equipment accessories. Thorough knowledge of hydraulic systems diagnostic and repairs. Follows all University and department policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position. Ability to perform arithmetic computations when required. Ability to diagnose malfunctions and do a variety of mechanical and electrical system overhaul. Ability to estimate the time and cost of repairs. Ability to operate and maintain shop equipment. Follows all University and department policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Maintains a safe work environment.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
