Job Title: Anchor/Executive Producer Telemundo - WFOX TV

Position Overview

Telemundo Jacksonville is searching for a dynamic leader to help launch Jacksonville’s first Spanish language, local newscast. This is a unique hybrid role, combining the on-air responsibilities of an anchor with the high-level, behind-the-scenes oversight of an executive producer. The ideal candidate is someone who makes strategic decisions on story selection and placement. You will write and edit scripts, and are responsible for the final product's quality, accuracy, and adherence to journalistic standards across multiple platforms. The role also requires strong on-camera presence, live reporting skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines, and adapt to changing news situations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to write and speak Spanish
• Assist in writing, pre-production and broadcast preparation; ensuring stories are clear/accurate and represent the station’s benchmark goals
• Deliver news copy on camera with confidence
• Use creativity and imagination, and exercise independent professional judgment in investigating, reporting, interviewing, writing, editing and delivering news stories and assigned events 
• Manage a team of producers and multimedia journalist
• Run daily editorial meetings, exercising rigorous editorial judgement
• Ability to implement research to create newscasts to serve Telemundo audience
• Work well with co-workers
• Generate story ideas daily

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field 
• 5 years reporting/anchoring 
• Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to engage with the audience is essential
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing news situations
• Must possess charisma and confidence to effectively present news and engage viewers
• Must be bilingual
